Doug S. knows how much I like doing comics from the mob's perspective. So, he put together a couple of ideas based on the same theme: Does Loken get an Achievement for wiping a 5 man with one Lightning Nova.

Naturally, Doug does a better job explaining the bit. So, we'll let him explain the panel since I've only encountered Loken before the instance.

Dear Woody,

I was watching a friend of mine on a run through Storm Halls when they fought Loken (aka Mr. ZappyPants) and this idea struck me. Loken has a nasty AoE spell called Lightning Nova that hits everyone within range causing large amounts of damage and this particular time there was a lag spike or something and three of the team were killed. I thought "I wonder if Loken gets an Achievement if he kills all 5...."

A simple comic of Loken standing in his hall with an Achievement Award flashing up at the bottom reading "Wiped an entire 5 man group with one Lightning Nova" and Loken grinning and saying "Awesome, just need Heroic now"

Made me smile, I hope it makes you smile too even if you don't use it in a comic.

You'll notice I changed things a bit to fit in with a previous achievement comic I did. And well... asthetically "Sweet" looks better than "Awesome".

Today's comic really had me chuckling, and then made me sad when I realized he probably got the Heroic achievement off one of my H-HoL groups...

It's such a simple fight, yet he manages to win more often than not, especially on heroic mode. His Nova casts quick enough that if you don't start running within half a second from when he starts to cast, it *will* hit you. He's like Murmur on steriods.

Someday, Loken! Someday I will have my revenge, then I will have the zappy-pants! Muhahaha!

I've lost count of how many awesome H-HoL groups I've gotten into where we clear the entire dungeon in 30 minutes, and wipe repeatedly on Loken until everyone gives up.

I'm just glad I killed him once when HoL was the heroic daily, and I don't ever need to kill him again for achievement purposes (other than to get the "Kill him in a minute" or whatever achievement, and to hell with that).

We've one shot Loken once in H-HOL...I think I cried tears of joy.

It's really not a bad achievement, I've seen pretty scrubby groups do it with 1 person dead on the first nova. Although honestly in H-HoL every run I've done through there but one we've picked up all the achievements without trying for them.

My favorite part of the fight is it's gloriously designed for holy priest healing, lots of movement and group healing, with steady ticks to bounce ProM.

Healing through Loken is hard, well, on Heroic. If the PuG is not fast enough on the damage, there's only so much that can be done O_O but yeah, this comic does sound like Loken.

Whoa. This sounds like a group I had last night. Our healer had never done Loken before and kept staying REALLY far away from him. Then he'd die, and we'd all die pretty quick after. Finally after 3 wipes he quit in disgust saying "you guys couldn't kill a boss mob if he had one health and blizzard was paying you a billion dollars" only... he said it more rude and with more typos.

So we picked up another DPS and I as a Ret pally healed it. He went down like a sack o' potatoes.
