So with the WoW Lunar Festival in full swing, I've been slowly working to "honor" all of the elders. Thus far the Alliance ones in Stormwind and Ironforge have been the most fun. I've only just started the dungeon ones though.

There's a problem though. For each elder you honor, you get a "lucky red envelope" in the mail a while later. Quite frankly I'm sick of it. I wish I could click something in my UI setup to opt out of them. I hate that damn little mail icon. It distracts me while I'm out an about. I then work to get to a mailbox as quickly as possible. And I'll be damned if another one doesn't show up 2 minutes after I leave. Arghhh.

So yeah, if you work for Blizzard and you're reading this: please, for the love of paid subscribers, let me stop the red letter spam before I kill someone... in game.

Ha ha I have been hating those red letters, I have all my auctions up so when I see the mail icon I'm just thinking WOOT gold time then it turns out to be a damn red letter.

My daughter and I play on an RP server. She's gone insane, constantly yelling at her mailbox and saying it's out to get her. Those that know her, know she's not RPing. I've been taking screenshots of her screaming about Elder mail; it'll be fun to show my grandkids some day. (she's only 12 now)

I did most of my elders in 1 week-end, so I can get my title asap and move to something else. I went to the mailbox to retrieve some eternals and stuff I've sent from an alt earlier (everyone know that Mailbox is a mini-warehouse that you can access from everywhere :P ) just to have to sit there for a while to open all the red envelopes to be able to see what I wanted in my box.

I know your pain. what is worse, i managed to do the elders of northrend, kalimdor, and eastern kingdoms in about... 2 hours. TOPS. and all but 1 of the old world dungeon elders. and the elders in the horde cities.

that was a lot of red in-game mail at once.

CTRAID and other mods had a batch mailmod that would open mail in batch as well as send it. Blizz opted to put in a batch mailing in their default client so probably a lot of people got rid of the mailmod. It was buggy anyway, and it merely opened them one at a time and was slow as all-get-out. About the pace of cooking to continually open mail.

Problem is you still gotta OPEN all those stupid letters on top of that. Even if you could batch loot mail, no way really to have a batch open. =_=

I wish Lucky Rocket was a currency to buy something that was actually useful. I have a butt-ton of them and they are almost useless. By the time I use a Lucky Rocket and get anywhere to actually make use of the buff, it's usually halfway gone. Most of the time I don't even think of them. Trash.

I usually just hover over the mail icon, see that elder-someone-or-other sent me mail and don't bother going to the mailbox immediately. I agree as to the absolute useless nature of the "gifts", especially the moonbeam, what is that stupid thing for?

In my guild... dancing..

Last year the moonbeams were for your invitation scroll to teleport you to Moonglade. They removed that function and now it's just a pretty beam of light.
