After complaining again about not being paid on time (I'm currently owed 3 months pay, with a 4th invoice due at the end of this month), I got the axe today from my ad agency.

The agreement comes to an end August 2nd and I have no idea where to take GU next. Companies are still advertising, I've seen it. But, I'm not large enough on my own to secure contracts from the larger gaming companies. And where the GU community tends to be generous when I ask for help, there's just not enough readers to sustain me on a month to month basis.

sounds like they are cutting you loose and banking on the probability that suing them for money owed will take too long and cost too much in court to be worth it. Problem is, reporting companies like that to the BBB and outing them publicly hurts them far worse than a lawsuit, and if they were smart and had anything resembling integrity (something far more rare every day in this modern global culture of thieves, backstabbers, thugs, bullies, and general dishonourable currs, may the Gods strike it down and reset the clock) they would pay up before moving on.

I take it they are also agreeing to pay up the money owed, and continue to pay you until August?

I hope so anyway.

Well that blows man. Not sure how the economy is holding up with your field, I imagine it is actually pretty cut-throat. Best of luck finding a new job. Hey, at least you got a couple of months notice! I got laid off at 530pm and my shift was over at 600pm... Joy!

Ah, glad to hear that! I misread your post.

Certainly sucks, but it did sound like your were not satisfied with their service any way. Maybe there is a silver lining there?

I don't know if it would help you, but Facebook has links in their developer section to a number of ad companies. Perhaps one of them would be good? All you need to do to access it is find the Developer app there and the forums associated with it.
