As I mentioned Friday, for my birthday Taks did some sneaking around and secured guest strips for Friday and Today so that I could take the weekend off. Friday's comic was by Steve over at Dueling Analogs and Today's comic? Today's comic was done by Hawk from Applegeeks. And, it's a thing of beauty.

Sure it's a bit of a penis joke. But look at that artwork! Man if only I had half the skill Hawk does I could probably get away with penis jokes too!

Does look damn good. I have always found Hawk's work impressive, part of why I read applegeeks. Good call on getting guest strips ahead of time. Enjoy.

I may be somewhat ignorant when it comes to drawing techniques (my own skill is around 0) but how is todays comic better than, say, Bounce II?

I am with Tundar on this. Although I do see the slightly 'darker' style with a few bit of 'distress' on the armor, to a non-comic artist like me it looks like just the addition of some black spots/smudges with a pen.

But I suppose that this is also along the lines of how I cannot tell a great wine from an excellent wine. So, if it's any consolation Woody, just know that there are people who see your artwork on par with that of someone you envy. Granted, we're just peasants of the artworld but we do make up the masses.

Hawk is damned good, no question, VERY damned good, but you have more than half his skill Woody. Styles differ, and as such cannot be compared directly, but your art has evolved into something good enough for me to want you to do artwork for the game, and I'm picky as hell as an end-user. That being said, I see a swirly in the future for the fanboy at the neighboring stall

Hey guys, I'm pretty secure in my own abilities. I appreciate your kind words but there's no need to try an reassure me.

I'm very good at assessing artistic ability and I tend not to sell myself short. So just trust me when I tell you Hawk is on a whole different level.

Your style may differ a little bit from Hawks, but you are still a damn good artist. I would be ecstatic if my artist ability was half as good as yours or Hawks.

Really looking forward to that game. And funny (or funny to me at least), I happen to be wearing my UNSCOF Halo 3 T today too!
