As I've been want to do lately, when a piece of gaming news doesn't jump out and grab me, I pick a game at random and endeavor to find the funny. Well Brutal Legend is a game I'm looking forward to but it hadn't made it's way into GU yet. I figured it was about time.

So I hit up the site, read what I could, and poured over the artwork and screenshots again.One thing that caught my attention in the description of the story was the invitation to "Become an epic hero in a Heavy Metal Fantasy World". [more info] Then I saw a blood laden screenshot and it all became clear.

The only way to talk about Brutal Legend without rehashing everything that's already been said was to turn 180 and write the unexpected. Now I've never been to a Jonas Brothers concert so I can only imagine the kind of carnage that actually goes on. But from all the screaming that comes out of venues hosting the Jonas Brothers, its obvious that the people inside are being bludgeoned to death or something.

Is it just me, or does the (what I suppose to be) main character [more info] look like Jack Black [more info]

This game looks muy bueno senoir Woody.

3 races all fighting for power makes a nice change of pace from the "typical" good versus evil games.

If it is possible to make "unique" characters, this game may develop a large number of players... only time will tell if this game will never rock out into the zapper.

Well considering Jack Black does the voice for the main character....ummmmm yeah.

Nope not just you. It's intentional being that Jack Black voices the main character.

When initial concept sketches were released the lead character was based on Lemmy from Motorhead. But now that Lemmy is playing a different part in the game (I'm guessing one of the bosses), Black was hired to fill the protagonist spot.

Edit: Rexx beat me to the point while I trying to find exactly what character Lemmy was playing in the game.

Now... perhaps it's my dirty mind... but.. um.... am I reading the joke correctly when I think I get what the connotation Woody is making between the whole 'blood' and 'jonas brothers concert' thing is? (Think... females?)

Either way, funny stuff hehe.

Yeah, you're reading it wrong. I'm likening the blood in the game to what I can only assume is physical torture going on at the concerts. Again I've never been to a Jonas Brothers concert but the amount of squealing, crying, and screaming means people inside the venue are being killed right?

That was my first thought as well, Hathur, which doesn't bode well for either of us.

Yeah, that part was easy enough to find. What I was looking for was if her was a boss fight or someone that helps you in your journey. It's a "heavy metal fantasy world" being called the Kill Master doesn't really ensure one role or the other.
