Epic Mickey is one of those games we've been hearing whispers about for a while. And where I wish I could tell you I had a release date for you... well... that's not even a decent rumor yet. But I did want to mention the game. Draw a little. And if you haven't heard about it, maybe slather some mustard on your "hype" sandwich.

The idea is this...
Disney's old forgotten characters still exist and their pissed. And Oswald the Rabbit, a Disney character that predates Mickey, leads them in an assault on Mickey's world. To help him accomplish his goals he releases long time Disney villian the Phantom Blot to exact revenge. The Blot uses sticky black ink to bleed and blend all the world's colors together and it's up to Mickey to set everything right. [more info]

The dripping ink Mickey from the comic comes from some concept work that will appear on the cover of the November issue of Game Informer magazine. [more info]

Wii Exclusive due to the gameplay (painting), everything i read about this so far makes me want it. i just want it to be an extremely good game.

I can appreciate the Wii exclusivity. But I would like to have seen the graphics handled by a 360 or PS3.

"O wow, that cover is awesome!"

Basically my first response when I saw the landing page for Epic Mickey. I love this concept, but I wish you could play it from both sides. I think I would get a nice sense of satisfaction playing as The Blot or Oswald and tearing the Magic Kingdom to the ground.

Some of the chatter says Mickey will be getting a retro revamp for the game. So I went back to the Mickey from Steamboat Willy. Back then, Mickey didn't wear gloves, but you can see that he's wearing gloves in the cover art, so I moved to the next version of Mickey. He didn't have whites to his eyes yet and his face wasn't flesh toned. I figured that was retro enough to have an impact.

Of course I had to toss a bit of extra detail in my image. It wouldn't really be GU if I didn't right?

Love the comic, you really don't need to apologize about being late (IMO) While we support you by buying stuff donating and such we don't per se pay you to do the comic. So take Blizzards attitude it is done when it is done. We realize life gets in the way and for the most part I hope the audience is patient and understanding.

There was some talk that the 360 and PS3 platforms would be available as well [more info], but the studio has now confirmed Wii exclusivity [more info].
