Let it snow. Let it snow. Let it snow.
I may be a Georgia boy, but I love snow. Maybe it was the sheer novelty of it when I was young where we might see snow on the ground once a decade. But out of that novelty true love was born. I moved to Illinois after college. And we got plenty of snow there. But it was always so damned cold.
Now, I love in Colorado. I can walk out on to my front porch and see the mountains. I get snow every year. And because of this area's weather oddness, it's not overly cold. You can actually go out and enjoy the snow. And, again because of this area's weather oddness, you don't have to endure the snow for too long. It's usually gone the next day. Nice heavy snows in three. Then once every handful of years you get a really big snow that reminds you that you're living at the base of a mountain. Now with a two year old running about, I get to enjoy snow in an all new way. And he seems to love it as much as I do. So what does all this have to do with gaming and thus makes sense to post in the GU Blog? Well when it's snowy we tend to stay at home a bit more. All together. And thus we watch TV and play games. And what's more GU-esque than that? |

ROCKING.
I love the snow as well.. But I also love the cold. Weird, yes, I know. That's why I live in Minnesota. |

Sad note, no game playing. But we did play in the snow for a bit.

I actually can't wait for the snow to come to my area and keep me inside for a bit.
Life's been a bit crazy lately, and I could use the rest. :-) |

I'm happy to not have to really deal with snow this year. I came from the northern parts of New York where the snow literally reached the third floor of my barracks. Yet, they still had us out and running in it like it was nothing. "Oh its blizzarding? Perfect! Lets run! Oh the roads are iced over and have snow on them? Perfect! Lets run! Oh its negative 30 out? Perfect! Lets run!"
Oh how I don't miss that place he he. I use to love snow, and well, I still probably do, I just needed a break from it. Here in Washington I'm sure we'll get some but nothing near to that extent. |

Well .. scarily approaching 40 and I've never seen snow. Well I mean you can't count fake snow can you? Coz I've seen that and I don't really feel the need to experience the real stuff. Cold and me just don't get along really.
But I'm in Queensland, Australia and the coldest we get here is about two weeks in the middle of 'winter' where people wear jeans to the beach, stop turning on their air conditioners and grumble when it goes less than 20 degrees centigrade (what's that like 40 farenheit?) |

F = C * 9/5 +32
So more like 68 degrees. Believe it or not I remembered that equation from highschool. I have no idea why. Oddly enough I was on a plane beside this lady chatting up a guy in the window seat. I can remember where we were headed but this lady was going on an on about a trip she was taking. And she commented on the temperature being measured in Celsius. Her and the guy jabbered a bit about it but had no idea what that actually meant temperature wise for them. After some time she tapped my shoulder and asked me. I kindly told her the equation and she looked at me like I'd stolen her puppy. After what seemed like forever, I shrugged and turned back to what I was doing and said something akin to "you asked". --- I also remember the qudratic equation. |

meh I'm useless at any kinda maths .. I seem to remember someone saying it was roughly double but maybe that's kilos/pounds who knows!
It took all my concentration to refrain from referring to 'two weeks' as a fortnight! lol |
