And apparently it's all Uncharted 2's fault. (11/06)
Yet again Stormy seemed to sense that I needed a guest strip. I've got a lot of work to do today to get the house ready for the Kiddo's birthday party tomorrow. And there it was in my inbox yesterday afternoon. Here's what she had to say about her submission...
Hi Woody, Here is a little quick guest strip for you, hope you enjoy. While I know the joke is an old one, it actually hit home for me about a week ago. Though I had picked up a couple of games for the PS3 in the past I couldn't really get "into" them (Little Big Planet), so all my PS3 was doing was sitting there and playing BluRay movies. I picked up Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls on Amazon because of a fortuitous meeting of several circumstances: 1 - Amazon's spend $80, get a $40 gift cert promotion 2 - The lack of XBox 360 games that I wanted 3 - Great reviews on Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls I popped in Uncharted 2 and was hooked; all those strange little PS3 commercials where people say Uncharted 2 looks like a movie now made sense (as did the "Hugh Jackman vs. Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake" movie role threads). Meanwhile, I also picked up the latest Ratchet and Clank (never played the previous titles), Uncharted 1 (which I am currently playing through) and I haven't even touched Demon's Souls yet. All of a sudden, the game queue for my PS3 is filling up quick! And I haven't bought Dragon Age or Lego Rock Band yet! -Storm So there you have it. Now back to preparations and cleaning. Thanks as always Stormhaven. One of these days we'll have to get you a site I can pimp. |

Thanks again, Woody!
Sorry for the quality, I generally like to do at least a little bit of shading and highlighting, but some serious ADHD was on the menu yesterday. I could probably never do one of those "live view" events like you do, there'd be ten minutes of line art and then two hours of random browsing. As for a site, maybe one day I'll actually figure out how to make a webcomic site. Unfortunately I am not a coder (I'm a SysAdmin, the person who fixes the systems after the coders break it), so other than generic "Coppermine" type galleries, there's not a whole lot of install packages for webcomic-type layouts that I've seen. Happy Bday to your kid! These are the ones where they're still all innocent and all... make it a good one! |

Nice, funny comic, especially in light of PS3's "We do everything" ad campaign, which I'm sure was some of the inspiration too.

Yeah, I think there was a distinct lack of PS3 games, when that game console launched. Most of the games that came out for the PS3 weren't really that compelling to get.

Dragon Age is a must have though. When you're done spinning the PS3s wheels, pick that up.

I'm leery of Dragon Age simply because I was one of those random oddballs who didn't find Mass Effect very interesting. Saying "Hi!" and then having someone spout their entire life story was a big turn off for me (and yes, the damn elevators too). While I was a big fan of BioWare pre-KOTOR (ie: their Baldur's Gate days), most of their 3D games haven't clicked with me much. I figure I'll wait and see what Black Friday has to offer - maybe pick up Dragon Age if there's a good deal.
I think I might be one of those weirdos camping out at Old Navy at 3am if they have the 360 version of Lego Rock Band for free. |
