Invisible Gaming Monkeys (12/30)
I looked all over the place trying to find some news about the other games out there to do a comic about.
But nothing popped out at me. And I figured what the hell, if I'm gonna make it up on the fly, I'm atleast gonna have fun drawing the picture. As a matter of fact, I like this panel so much... it might become the next GU t-shirt. **shrugs and grins** Now, the game they are supposedly playing is "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2". I HATE the cartoon with unbridled furvor, but, the game LOOKS excellent. The cell shading graphics makes it look like you're playing the cartoon... just without the stupid attempt at a plot and brain numbing dialogue. Anywho, it's just the kind of game Ted would get addicted to and play for some 72 hours straight- which would, of course, lead to the imaginary monkey -if, you know, Ted weren't a figment of MY sleep deprived imagination. |

It has no name, yet... as i think there may be something cosmically wrong with having a named imaginary figure giving a name to an imaginary figure of it's own. Almost like if we think about it too hard we'll create some kind of spacial singularity and be sucked into an incomprehensible abyss of irony and sarcasm.
**taps his chin and ponders** --- And, I haven't seen that episode. There are some stations that are re-running them though, so I'm aleast getting to see a few. The Family Guy has a very high probablity of insighting derail... so... please be careful to stay on topic: Imaginary game playing monkeys that throw poop because of losing Dragon Ball Z games to an imaginary roommate. |

...that's deep.
Like, the monkey represents the monkey in all of us. And, like, the poop is like portions of our soul that we're abandoning. And DBZ:B2 is, like.. well, I'm not entirely certain how the game fits into that. But it's deep. Or all that could be a product of my sleep-deprived imagination. |

http://Hehe whats the name of this m...replace Foos !
I liked Foos. He was cool. He was in some of my fave panels. Anyways, I didn't realise that Ted wasn't real. I've not been on the forums long, so I've no idea what's been said before. But hey, now I know. So, your imaginery friend now has an imaginery pet... That's, erm... kinda twisted. If you were so desperate to find a game to do, you could have gone to the classics, like a Space Invaders one. Why does it have to be new / current games ? ![]() |

I used to be a fan of DBZ, back when it first came out on Cartoon Network, back when I was in the sixth grade, I think. I enjoyed it, since it was a cartoon and I was a kid. The show may suck, but the games tend to be fun little games.
I bought the second Budokai cause I received the original for Christmas last year, to give it a try. It DOES look and play like the cartoon, sans plot (They killed story mode, thank you God), but it sucks as a fighter. It's pretty, and it's good.. for a DBZ game.. but choosing a monkey for his opponent is a good idea. *grins* Controls are pretty much down to just the joystick and two punch buttons and an 'energy' button. It gets boring, though, as most fighters do, but since the most powerful moves are repetitive cutscenes, it gets boring that much faster. Rant rant rant, I've made a bigger nerd of myself by reviewing a DBZ game. Oh, and the evil monkey shows up in a lot of Family Guy episodes. Chris will mention him, someone will say don't be silly, then he'll look around and the monkey will be there, scowling and pointing a quivering finger at him before running back to his room. That's all that's needed to know on that. |

Prob boring cause it isn't as deep as Street Fighter or King of Fighters..... for 3D Soul Calibur..... I actually thought the monkey was from the cartoon... you know the one King Kai has as a pet/friend.

Yeah, there's a monkey in the show. And yeah, it's boring because after you unlock everything (You have to win tournaments and use the money to buy them, or earn them in the map mode), there's nothing to do.. that, and the combat system is so simple, anyone who can do a combo in any other fighter could play the game with just one hand.
Essentially, to pull off an attack, you have to hit a five button combination, with a lot of room for lag time in there in case you have to strain to remember the move. The most simplistic would have to be Punch, Punch, Punch, Punch, Energy. A more 'difficult' one would be Forward+Punch, Punch, Forward+Punch, Punch, Energy. But you have to remember, the cartoon is aimed for a younger demographic, and as such, the games would be aimed at that demographic as well. The little attack cutscenes are nice, but you wouldn't want to use them constantly in a match. It's nice you have to raise a power gauge to use them, but hitting back and guard will charge it anyways. The attack cutscenes can run up to a minute or so long, and your opponent has 3000 HP, wherease most long attacks deal maybe 900 damage or so. It's a fun game, but you'd have to have enjoyed DBZ to really get into it, otherwise some of the neat little additions from the show wouldn't be quite as neat. As a fighting game, I'd say it's very low end, but as a DBZ game, it's closer to the high end. Yay. |

Ok So the Monkey is a figment of Ted's shattered mind...but Ted is part of Woody's twisted mind..which in turn begs us to travel the philisophical path less traveled...Just then where did the crap on the walls come from?
