Growing a pair... (11/29)
Ques·ti·cles: noun
Courage to accept potentially difficult quests, especially if a certain amount of recklessness is required. --- As a player that solos most of the time, and tries to avoid dying to keep from paying copious amounts of gold on armor repair, I'm usually pretty reluctant to go on quests that seem too difficult for me. Sure, I'll approach them and give them a little look. But, I've gotten pretty adept at assessing the situation to decide if I'd actually survive or not. If I feel I can't survive... I rarely even try. I abandon the quest and move on. Not exactly a gleaming pair of questicles. A good example: I took Grek out to Silithus to look over some of the new quests out there. One quest found me having to grab a bag off the ground near a nasty little spider elite and his two body guards. I didn't even consider rushing them and trying to take out the elite. I watched their path a few times, guaged how close to them I could get. Hoped it wouldn't take the bag too long to open, rushed in, grabbed the bag, and ran back out nasty elite and his two body guards hot on my tail. **shrugs** I guess it's not TOO bad. I did atleast try it. But, if I'd gotten smished a couple of times, I would have dropped the quest like a hot rock. --- Alrighty, this is where you tell stories of your possession or lack of questicles. |

I have a suicidal amount of questicles. Sometimes it pays off...sometimes not. I respect players that wait till they are a certain level to start quests or kill off some elites...I'm just not one of them.

I'm a solo artist too, so I understand the dropping of the quests as if they were boiling my skin. I still have five elite quests over in Arathi, and I'm not going to dare touch them without a little more help/levels.

That reminds me of trying to get Blood of Heroes for epic makes in the plaguelands.
Damn things spawn 1-2 lvl 57 - 63 Elite Ghosts. I tried getting away from these things each time but not a chance in hell as a warrior unless I sacrifice a masterworks target dummy to distract em. Sometimes it's best to just run in grab n accept the inevitable death & repairs. As for Questicles, I'm prity much in the same boat as you Woody. |

I'm the exact opposite. I will try the quest at least once. Even if it is a red elite quest just so I get the idea of what kinda help I might need. Most non instance quests me and my mage friend can duo. I even talked him into trying one of the Dukes in Silithus. Of course we quickly found out we both were going to die.

I'm a bit of a crazy player... never know what I'll try taking, especially since I'm mostly a soloist. Recently started killing the 52-53 elite cliff giants in Azshara solo with my 56 troll warrior with okay gear. Another example would be my undead warlock... I did the 'Book of the Ancients' quest, including killing Lord Kragaru, the lvl 38 naga, by myself at lvl 33. I figure if it's at least down to orange, rather than red, I'll give it a shot...

I did this quest the same way you did. I like these kind of quests, you can either grab a couple friends and strong-arm it or you can use your brain and out think your opponent.
Of course, it is hard to do this in a MMO, because as soon as someone beats a quest solo it gets posted on the net and spammed on [1.General]. |

My hunter has questicles the size of rockmelons
Taking the Vancleef instance solo at level 30 takes some heart. But u always have ur trusty (if sometimes worthless) pet to take a few hits for u while your grabbing that ever important quest item. |

As I've played the game, I'll take on quests that are orange if I have some help. I won't touch reds unless I have a full 5-man group. I'm just a weanie that way...oh and the char is an Undead Warrior.
Now, with all my alts I have an easier time completing all my quests, even the reds. It seems like once everyone hit 60 they started the 'Alt-Game'. But I routinely take on mobs two levels above myself, without problems. Yeah, so look for me on Silver Hand running around the Barrens |
