Okay, so Great-Father Winter isn't fat. But the sentiment is still there.

The World of Warcraft Holiday events have started. [ more info ] So, that means uber level characters, on epic mounts, over camping low level trash mobs, and players price gouging low level mob drops needed to complete the Winter Veil quests, are here again.

I got lucky, I just happened to be on early before ignorance started. So, I got my "small eggs" with little trouble. Actually I completed all the quests without too many issues and got crap for my effort.

My advice to anyone that hasn't done the Winter Veil quests yet... don't do it for the rewards. Just do it for the fun and enjoyment of the season.

Hell that might have been the point. But you know what... screw Great-father Winter anyway. He started all this. And for what? Freakin' cookies.

Shaman recipes on alliance ain't very rewarding o.o

I originally wasn't there for the reward of course, just wanted to get into the winter veil spirit, but after the kill was ninja'd like 3 times it became a matter of principal :P

With Great-Father Winter also comes Mother Lag. You know it took me and a friend almost 50 minutes to get out of Ironforge last night? Even people with cutting edge graphics cards still had issues.

I was in Westfall last night. Wish I had a gold for every time I was ganked by a level 60. Happy holidays all! Go away now please.

I swear, that needs to be a feeling more prevalant in gaming anyway. I rarely play for the "rewards" of the game, I play for the enjoyment of having played them.

Too often do we all get bogged down by the ignorance of others and what they feel is accomplishing something, only to forget why we started playing the game in the first place.

Small eggs on Arthas are up to 3g for a stack of 5. However, if most people were smart they would search the AH for "Gingerbread Cookies" and they'd see them for 95s up to 1g50s. Oh well.

I also tried to kill the Greench, but there was about 50 horde and alliance there. The alliance and horde got into a big snowball fight, then the previous GM(Grand Marshal) came with his/her crew and ruined the whole fun. Alterac Mountains just turned into a big PvP fest. I'll try it later.

make egg nog with it last year my dwarf got trashed on egg nog and turned into a raindeer

I was lucky with my eggs. Headed over to Mulgore and 15 minutes later I had 5 of them. Thank god for tracking. I also got extremely lucky with the Greench. Was in the right spawn spot by myself and my pet was on auto-agro. Managed to tap it before all the level 60 rogues appeared out of no where. Shame the remainder of my group was too far away to get credit for the kill.

Was very nice of Blizzard to put in fast spawning holiday snow for snowball fights while you wait though.

heck, in 1 hour I got 70 eggs (and I wasn't even farming for eggs) I was after light feathers for my priest since I tend to use them up a fair bit.
Those owl bear mobs in darkshore are about 1 in 4 for egg drops.
