Everytime someone starts spamming the Trade channel with sell messages, I add them to my /ignore list. Needless to say, I ran out of space a LONG time ago.

I don't understand why some people think spam tactics will actually work. From everything I've seen, everyone gets so frustrated with the spammer that there's no chance anyone will buy their goods.

These days I have to remove old names from the list to add new ones. And, of course, more than just the spammers occupy my list. There's the unfunny chucklenuts being pointlessly negative. And, the slapasses /whisper-ing me to go to visit auction and gold seller sites. Basically, anyone who spams the same message more than four times within a couple of minutes... Zoomp... on the list.

I typically turn off ALL the standard chat channels. But, I'll tell you honestly, if Blizzard offered more /ignore space for a fee, I'd be all over it like goldfarmers on a Thorium Vein.

The worst part is you find these spammers in any game.

I sipmly turn off chat in towns.
If I need it I will find it in the Auction House, if not I can wait.

Well, it can only get better when they link the trade channels over the major cities in 1.9...

Too right that. Just gets so frakking annoying.

I know what you mean, it is even worse if they are new guys who say they are selling valuable stuff, like 90 times, but end up trying to sell a peice of "Tough Jerky" for 900 gold. And still, even worse if someone runs up and actually buys it.

I shut off pretty much all the chat channels in cities. LFG, Trade, General. All annoying. Placing people on the ignore list is a band-aid. Turning off the chat channel completely is amputating the limb completely.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop people completely. I still get /tells telling me to visit xyz Web site to get great deals on phat lootz. Those people go immediately to the /ignore list.

The thing that I hate is when you get a Tell from someone and its an ad to buy gold off line.

I usually send them a tell back and hit all the keys on the keyboard till if fills up the message and I do it till they log off. I hate people that spam you with an ad. Thats why I'm on the do not call list lol. Maybe they should have that in WoW?
