Commercials for the Star Wars RTS "Empire at War" have been running on the various channels that keep me company while I work. And, in those commercials there's a sound byte of Vader giving the command to "fire at will". And without fail, every time I hear it, my brain asks, "Well what the hell did Will do"? I had no plans to do such a lame ass comic based on such a OLD ass joke. Then my girlfriend heard the commercial and asked the same thing.

So, I figured I'd answer the question.

Think about it. If you were one of the most powerful evil forces in my galaxy, would you let Will get away with owing you cash? Hell no. That kind of thing could ruin your rep with the other evil forces. You'd crush his trachea with your evil mind powers. Or, at the very least, blast his butt across the cosmos with the Death Star. You know... to maintain your evil street cred.

As always, that "rebels" line is my homage to Eddie Izzard.

I always say "Yeah, get Will. He stole our lunches" or something similar when the say "Fire at Will" in the game. Oh, actually, the game isnt as system intensive as you think. My compy's a little old, but, on max settings I get no lag in land or space battles.

My fleet commanders name in EVE-Online was Will. It was allways kinda strange when he was saying "Fire at will".

I bought the game about a week ago ( when it came out)? It is Not the best RTS i have ever played but a decent one( always fun to play as Vader). The mechanics of the game are not your usual send builder, make base, barracks, armor depot...its a little more complicated and involved. You have both ground forces and space forces. It can be a little tricky at first. The graphics are a little crude at times ( especially when you do close ups or watch a battle scene from a cinematic perspective). BUT, ultimately it is a pretty fun game if you enjoy RTS games. I am not a Star Wars fanatic, but i do like the movies, and have really enjoyed playing as Vader or Bobo Fet <sp>. So i would say the game is fun, and can defeinetly be played for some time. I was not disapointed with my purchase.

Can you just show up on the Death Star or other Imperial ship with a flag and just TAKE it? That would be the best mod for SW ever! Of course, with the rebels tooling arround in their own star destroyer.. kinda defeats the purpose. Still, bombarding planets from space is abnormally fun to me...... *shrug*
