I've always had this love/hate relationship with Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise. I always dug that she was such a strong female character in a game. I never dug her physical representations. And where I appreciate the attempt to make her more accurate, Taks said it best: "That girl needs a sammich". Which I, of course, translated into a Gamer Girl Comic.

The catalyst for this comic was a copy of "The Way", an nVidia mini mag that came attached to this month's Maxumum PC, featuring Tomb Raider: Legend on the cover.

Now, I think it's perfectly understandable to disagree with me on the new Lara. But, this is how I saw it. For all she does, athleticism would factor heavily into her build. But, the new Lara has spindly arms, her chest is still too large for the shirt she's wearing. Her hips and legs look pretty good, anatomically speaking. But, unless she's had her bottom set of ribs removed, her mid section just looks too small. And, well, from the other images I've seen, she's kinda got a big butt.

Okay, okay, I digress. And again, I admit that my idea of too thin is probably a good deal more liberal than what current popular culture dictates.

Atleast in the facial area and probably other parts it seems like they tried to pseudo model the game character after Angelina Jolie. But yeah, with the new model, you can see what food she is eating just by looking at her stomach. it has the outline as it goes down the tubes.

Considering her physical size wouldn't you think she would be very top heavy?

Get her 2 sammich's, and some double fudge cake or somethin.

Yeah..I agree with the new Lara needing a sammich...or 2 dozen. I heard she was being redone and thought "why?" Now I suspect another Lara (Flynn Boyle) may have had a hand in it...let's just hope Ms.Croft doesn't start wearing pink tu-tus while blowing up temples =\.

I'm pretty sure Lara isn't designed to be practical, she's designed to look good on the cover of a game to get us Googly-eyed males to to drool and play it.

Well, i'm sorry to say, I have a hard time controling a body and becoming someone I would rather date. On the other hand almost every woman I know has this game (and most of the set) and play it often.

I don't know, maybe I can get into Duke Nukem (or some other macho character) easier because he does stuff I like. He's holds a big gun, he shoots stuff, and explodes things. I just can't become this busty babe and get her to pounce (i mean leap) onto the goal and get giddy for 'making' it.

I girlfriend takes care of Lara. and i Happily watch
