I KNEW it wasn't because of production delays! (10/25)

As most of you already know, Blizzard is pushing back the release of the Burning Crusade expansion, presumably for "fine-tuning" and "finishing touches". Initially expected to ship in November to hit that oh-so-hot Post-Thanksgiving/Pre-Christmas holiday shopping blitz, the official release has now been postponed until January '07.

But, we "industry insiders" know better. See, apparently, the Fleshbeasts already had plans for a trip the Bahamas. Something about hideously colorful shirts, Mai Tai's with little umbrellas (inexplicably poured into martini glasses), and sand in their fleshy protuberances

Just thought you guys should know the real story.

Why, get sand in their fleshy protuberances obviously.

You know... the words fleshy protuberances make my spine itch.

Hehe. Very Nice.

I was not pleased when I got the news last night.

I guess I'm not totally devastated though.

Blizzard is known for their game delays..but at the same time, they are also known for the quality of the games they do eventually release.

The news of this push back makes me sad. I was hoping to spend my cold winter bundled up with my gamers beenie, coffee and the reassuring warm glow of my monitor to befriend me. You know, cause the real world is a scary place and all.

Alas, nay says Blizzard... who's creation of addicting games is truly epic.

However, this will give me a good excuse to... to... *shivers* I'm scared, what will I do with all this free time?! Someone hold me.

I honestly don't mind when Blizzard pushes a launch back because I know the quality will go up. I can't say the same for other companies. I played WoW at launch and was impressed at the quality of the game compared to others I had played (at launch or even months or years after launch).

Will pushing the launch back mean there won't be any problems? No. But I'm confident they won't be game-breaking.

Now I might actually get a character to 60 before they increase the cap to 70!!

Blizzard delays
Blizzard makes high quality games that last a long time
Not like my life depends upon having the game by next month (twitch)

Hmm on a more serious note anybody know the fastest path from 50-60? I have tons of characters near 50 but just havent spent the time to go from 50-60.

Maybe the The Spanish Translation and QA (Quality Assurance) Department from Blizzard Entertainment Europe strike has something to do with the delay.

I hate that they pushed it back, but I am very glad that they did it for the right reasons. There is nothing worse than a buggy/unfinished expansion.

While I am a little bummed that it got pushed back, I do appreciate that Blizzard is willing to delay the game to make sure it is as good as they can get it before release, nothing worse then getting excited about a new expansion that gets rushed out the door and is unplayable because of the numerous bugs.

Hats off to Blizzard for wanting to release quality games instead of forcing out unfinished content just to make the holiday cash.
